OUTPATIENT IMAGING AFFILIATES AND MEDICAL UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA FORM RADIOLOGY JOINT VENTURE TO ENHANCE AMBULATORY IMAGING SERVICES ACROSS THE STATE
Franklin, TN – (March 3, 2025) – Outpatient Imaging Affiliates (“OIA”), a national owner and operator of outpatient imaging center locations and the leading outpatient imaging partner to hospitals, health systems and academic medical centers, is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with The Medical University of South Carolina (“MUSC”). OIA and MUSC formed this joint venture to build a network of outpatient imaging center locations across the state and support MUSC’s growing network of hospitals, physicians and health care locations.
With a strategic goal of exceeding patient expectations, expanding access and improving outcomes across the state of South Carolina, MUSC sought a partner with a notable track record of developing patient friendly and referring physician focused outpatient imaging center locations. OIA quickly rose to the top of the list. Chad Wiggins, System Administrative Officer, Radiology, at MUSC Health explains, “OIA’s reputation proceeded our conversations with them. They were known to be a quality imaging operator and a partner to some of the top academic institutions in the country. The more we got to know them, the more we were convinced they were the right choice to help us achieve our goals.”
The joint venture is already pushing through with several de novo developments across the state to expand MUSC’s ambulatory outreach and support the communities in which MUSC serves.
“While many imaging operators have joint venture relationships, OIA is the only one whose primary business model is the joint venture model,” Creighton Cook, Vice President of Operations explains. “With forty-three outpatient imaging center locations partnered with sixteen hospitals across eleven states, our experience working with hospitals is unmatched.”
