Nashville, TN (February 1, 2016) – Outpatient Imaging Affiliates (“OIA”) announced today that it was selected by MedStar Ambulatory Services, a division of MedStar Health, to be MedStar’s strategic outpatient imaging center management partner.  Over the next several years, MedStar plans to open a number of large, outpatient focused, medical campus locations throughout Maryland and Washington DC.  Each location is designed to bring a streamlined, comprehensive and collaborative approach to health care in the community.  The joint venture is named MedStar Radiology Network (“MRN”).

In addition to being an owner alongside MedStar, OIA will provide its comprehensive management, marketing, information technology and billing services at each location.  Professional radiology services at each location will be provided by the radiologists of MedStar Medical Group.

MRN’s first location – a 100,000 square foot center in Bel Air, Maryland – is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2016 to serve Harford County with urgent care, primary care, multi-specialty care and a full array of outpatient radiology services, including MR, CT, Dexa, Ultrasound, X-Ray and Mammography exams.  More information can be found at

A 60,000 square foot building in Brandywine, Maryland is scheduled to open in June of 2016.  This state-of-the-art location will serve Prince George’s, Charles, St. Mary’s counties with primary care and multi-specialty care.  Radiology services in Brandywine include MR, Ultrasound, Flouroscopy and X-Ray. More information can be found at

A third center, located in the heart of Washington, DC, will open in August.  MedStar Lafayette Center – another 100,000 square foot location – will provide comprehensive, coordinated medical care with expert specialists from MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and MedStar Washington Hospital.  Radiology services at MedStar Lafayette Center will include MR, CT, Ultrasound, X-Ray  and Mammography scans.  More information can be found at

With the inclusion of an existing center in Hyattsville, Maryland, OIA will be operating four full modality locations and two additional X-Ray only facilities in the area by the end of the year.  Future growth is already planned over the next several years.

“OIA was honored to be selected by MedStar to support their strategic plans.” says Cannon King, President and CEO of Outpatient Imaging Affiliates.  “Like many systems across the country, MedStar understands to better serve their patients, they need to be in the local community.  However, while hospitals often struggle in this more retail environment, it is an area in which OIA excels.  Coupling our management and marketing expertise alongside their reputation and relationships makes for a strong likelihood of success in this project”
